stupid, stupid
So after publishing the previous entry, I took the two seconds necessary to punch "majoka sex" into google. A little navigation brought some answers.
majoka is a girl, and so is the author. they do drugs, sell drugs, and have sex all the time. they live in a warehouse with other people not unlike themselves. also, they are completely fictional.
A number of years ago, a friend of mine told me a story about his boss, Henry. After surfing out somewhere along the pacific coast, he was packing up in his truck when a disheveled young man approached him. It was Kurdt Cobain and his tour bus was parked nearby broken down. Henry offered Kurdt some pot and he said yes, so they smoked in his truck and Kurdt complained about being stuck with a broken down bus. It was a pretty good story. Much better than my sketchy version. After relating this story of Henry and Kurdt, my friend told me that his boss was of the story telling type and that it might not be true. This was a couple of years after Kurdt's death, when the implications of his life and music were beginning to very much take hold of popular culture. I said that it really didn't matter if the story was true or not. I knew full well while it was being told that it was probably bullshit, but I liked it anyway because of the magic in it. It may never have happened in the real world, but something about it rang true and commanded my attention.
and now we ask ourselves,
Where must the line between fiction and reality be drawn?
Should it be drawn at all?
Now that I know that majoka and her girlfriend do not live the life I thought they did, the magic is gone for me . Maybe you can give them a shot and find something worthwhile.
