NOTICE OF RELEASE FROM PROBATION
Dear Mr. _____
The purpose for this letter is to advise you that you are being released from probation and your employment with the City of ________ terminated as of the close of business on December 7, 2006.
As you know, the probationary period is a basis for determining the eligibility of an employee for regular status. However, an employee may be released from employment at any time without right of appeal (Manual of Personnel Rules, Practices & Procedures, Section 2.30, I.).
Please return any City equipment that was issued to you to your immediate supervisor before the close of business on December 13, 2006, and your final paycheck will thereafter be issued.
We regret having to take this action and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
________ _____

i had a feeling i'd reread this here, and i almost said something about it last night, but whatever...
i'm not exactly certain what your question/response intends to convey, but for me, it feels like doom (which is also what i feel when i think about you leaving, and you leaving is what i associate this post with, which, i guess probably influences my interpretation somewhat...)
by the way, i just noticed doom is mood spelled backwards, which is something i find interesting even though it has no significance whatsoever.
"but for me, it feels like doom"
is an excellent phrase (in a terrible sentence.)
It would make a good bumper sticker.
